Women at the Center of our Mission
Women have always been at the heart of the Good Shepherd mission. From its inception, inspired by Marie de Vallees’ call to St. John Eudes to care for women in situations of prostitution, to the mission’s expansion beyond borders during St. Mary Euphrasia’s time, and continuing today, the congregation has remained steadfast in prioritizing the dignity and well-being of women. As stated in our constitution: “Our specific orientation is to girls and women whose condition in life cries out for the healing and salvation which Jesus alone can bring. We are deeply committed to their human and spiritual healing and integral development.”
This year’s celebration of the International Women’s Day and Women’s Month witnessed many collaborations and joint efforts with other church communities, NGOs, and government agencies, to celebrate and honor women.

Bridgetine women stand tall and bright, empowered to lead with all their might. To serve with grace, to inspire change. In a world where love and respect arrange. Shades of purple, bold and true, symbolize the strength in me and you. Let’s create a world, just and fair, where every heart can truly care. Let’s paint the town with purple hues, with our light that shines, and spirit that glows.

Beyond March
All these activities held in observance of Women’s Month highlight that through journeying together and collaborating, efforts to empower women are both enriched and amplified. May the fruits of these endeavors bring abundant life to every woman, as promised by the Good Shepherd—beyond just a day or a month. While Women’s Month may have come to a close, the celebration and valuing of women should remain ongoing, continuing to inspire and uplift every day of the year.
