This second month of the year, we take our inspiration for reflection from the New Year message of our Congregational Leadership Team (CLT). They are inviting us in this Jubilee Year of Hope towards “deepening and strengthening of spirituality” in the Congregation that is “aligned with our spirit and charism, updated, evolving and transformative.” The CLT’s hope – which must also be OUR hope – is that “Spirituality is not seen in the congregation as being confined to any one place but rather becomes a lived and transformative experience for all across the Congregation and beyond.”
We are reminded: “The world around us is crying out for peace—peace in relationships, peace in communities, peace in homes, peace among nations, and peace with our environment.”
We are challenged: “Walk this ‘path to peace’ by living our values with courage and creativity.”
We are invited: “Could it be a time once again to renew our commitment to transformation and work for justice, hope, peace and love become tangible in the world?”
As Good Shepherd mission partners, sisters and lay, let us reflect and pray on our Spirituality. Let us ask for the grace to “decide and act” to deepen and strengthen our spirituality right where we are, in our ministry, our families, our communities.
