Celebrating the 230th Birth Anniversary of St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier
With hearts filled with joy and gratitude, the Sisters and partners in mission of 1043 compound in Quezon City, together with the program participants of Heart of Mary Villa, celebrated the 230th birth anniversary of St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier on July 31, 2026. The celebration began with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Billy Juan, bringing everyone together in prayer and thanksgiving for the life and legacy of our beloved foundress.
Following the Mass, the celebration continued outside the chapel with a lively karakol dance by the prenovices, honoring St. Mary Euphrasia. This was followed by a creative storytelling activity that revisited the life of our foundress through photographs and an engaging question-and-answer session facilitated by Sr Cielo. With Sisters from other units joining the gathering, “subtitles” aka live translations were thoughtfully provided to helping everyone participate and enjoy the activity.
The morning then shifted to a wellness session featuring Zumba, led by an energetic volunteer from the parish of the Miraculous Medal. Her enthusiasm, along with lively music, inspired everyone to join in the dancing. Even the Sisters using wheelchairs participated joyfully, moving their hands to the rhythm and reminding everyone that there are many ways to celebrate and share in the joy of community.
It was a beautiful and joy-filled morning, made even more special by the welcome absence of rain. The celebration concluded with a hearty breakfast shared by all.
As we continue to nurture wellness in mind, body, and spirit, may we also keep alive the legacy of St. Mary Euphrasia—her compassion, missionary zeal, and unwavering commitment to the glory of God and the salvation of all.
A Celebration of Faith and Mission in Dasmariñas, Cavite
Meanwhile, in Dasmariñas, Cavite, the Parish of St. Mary Euphrasia celebrated its annual Pistang Hulyo in honor of its patroness.
Three years ago, the parish moved the celebration of St. Mary Euphrasia’s feast to July 31 to allow more time and attention for its preparation, as her actual feast day on April 24 often falls during Lent or the Easter season.
The Sisters from Quezon City had hoped to join the afternoon celebration. Unfortunately, an unexpected problem with their vehicle’s tires, and in the midst of heavy rains, forced them to return to the convent. Despite of this, the Good Shepherd presence was represented by Sr. Bernadette Guzman and Sr. Arabella Balingao of Bahay Pastulan Convent – Our Lady of Hope Community, who were able to attend the festivities.
This year’s fiesta carried the theme, “Nana Phrasia: Masidhing Nakikinig sa Tinig ng Mabuting Pastol Tungo sa Pagmimisyon.” The celebration was led by the Most Rev. Rey Evangelista, Bishop of Imus, bringing the parish community together in faith and renewed commitment to mission.
Maligayang kaarawan, Inang Sta. Maria Eufrasia! May your life and mission continue to inspire our Sisters, partners in mission, and communities to listen deeply, love courageously, and serve faithfully for the glory of God and the salvation of all.
